Hollywood star Alec Baldwin went online to apologise to fans for his furious voicemail message to his daughter, calling her a “thoughtless little pig”, that was broadcast around the world.

“Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child,” the 49-year-old actor wrote on his website.

"I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. I can understand why/how Alec Baldwin could get upset and fly off the handle.Probably every father who has gone through a similar experience can but,taking it out on his daughter is the wrong thing to do and I think he knows that now.
Not that it matters what I think but I'm willing to except that Mr. Baldwin is truly sorry and would rather this had never happened. Being a "Phone Daddy" is tough on a father as well as a kid and sometimes feelings can cloud your judgment.
Maybe this will help bring a change to the way both Alec and Kim handle the whole matter and realize that what matters most in this whole story is what will happen to their daughter if they keep on this path of trying to hurt each other. At least one would hope that would be the case... BJC

BLACKSBURG, Va., April 18 — Campus authorities were aware 17 months ago of the troubled mental state of the student who shot and killed 32 people at Virginia Tech on Monday, an imbalance graphically on display in vengeful videos and a manifesto he mailed to NBC News in the time between the two sets of shootings.
“You have vandalized my heart, raped my soul and torched my conscience,” the gunman, Cho Seung-Hui, said in one video mailed shortly before the shooting at a classroom and his suicide. “Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ to inspire generations of the weak and the defenseless people.”

Two students told NBC's “Today” show they were unaware of the dorm shooting when they walked into Norris Hall for a German class where the gunman later opened fire.

Derek O'Dell, his arm in a cast after being shot, described a shooter who fired away in “eerily silence” with “no specific target – just taking out anybody he could.”

After the gunman left the room, students could hear him shooting other people down the hall. O'Dell said he and other students barricaded the door so the shooter couldn't get back in – though he later tried.

“After he couldn't get the door open he tried shooting it open ... but the gunshots were blunted by the door,” O'Dell said.

The gunman who killed 32 people at a Virginia university in the deadliest shooting rampage in modern US history was a student of Asian origin who may have acted with a second suspect, the university's president said today.

"It appears that the second shooter was a resident in our dormitory ... it appears he was an on-campus resident," the president of Virginia Tech University Charles Steger said in an interview on ABC television in the US.

HONOLULU Apr 15, 2007 (AP)— Legendary crooner Don Ho, who entertained tourists for decades wearing raspberry-tinted sunglasses and singing the catchy signature tune "Tiny Bubbles," has died. He was 76.

He died Saturday morning of heart failure, publicist Donna Jung said.

Ho had suffered with heart problems for the past several years, and had a pacemaker installed last fall. In 2005, he underwent an experimental stem cell procedure on his ailing heart in Thailand.

HONOLULU (Reuters) - Don Ho, Hawaii's most popular entertainer who achieved fame far beyond his home state with the song "Tiny Bubbles," died on Saturday at age 76, an official said.

The "King of Waikiki" died at a Honolulu medical center, said Michael Lynch, investigator at the office of the Honolulu medical examiner, without giving the reason for death.

Ho had a history of heart problems and The Honolulu Advertiser newspaper said he suffered a heart attack at his home in Waikiki early on Saturday.

Ho underwent an experimental stem cell procedure in Thailand in 2005 to strengthen his heart. His health improved markedly and he returned to doing shows at a Waikiki hotel twice a week.
