Malcolm McLaren: Dead At Age 64 From Cancer

Malcolm McLaren: Blood, spit and tears as the punk provocateur dies

Malcolm McLaren stirred up chaos all his life – and even in death, punk's most inspired interloper will cause controversy.

You can, if you so desired, make a strong argument for the importance and originality of the largely forgotten albums Malcolm McLaren released under his own name in the 80s.
The first, Duck Rock, was a particularly innovative blending of hip hop and world music, while the video for the hit single Buffalo Gals offered most Britons their first glimpse of breakdancing. Tom Snyder Who Was A True Late Late Night Host Has Died At Age 71 / Tom Interviewed Everyone From Lennon To Manson And Always With Style And Class !!!

Tom Snyder was one of the greats in late night interviewing. I always watched Tom because he would ask the kind of questions that I would have asked his guests as well. Tom Snyder had a certain style that was unique and is never found these days."Rest In Peace" Tom Snyder... BJC

TV newsman Tom Snyder dies at 71

Tom Snyder, the brash and provocative late-night TV talk-show host whose bellowing laugh and ever-present cigarette made him a pop culture icon ripe for parody in the 1970s, has died. He was 71.

Snyder died Sunday in San Francisco of complications associated with leukemia, Mike Horowicz, his longtime producer and friend, told the Associated Press on Monday.

"Tom was the very thing that all broadcasters long to be: compelling," David Letterman, whose production company produced the show that marked Snyder's return to late-night TV in the 1990s, said in a statement Monday.

"Whether he was interviewing politicians, authors, actors or musicians, Tom was always the real reason to watch," Letterman said. "I'm honored to have known him as a colleague and as a friend."

LOS ANGELES–Dysfunctional rock band Van Halen was named yesterday among new inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, paving the way for an awkward reunion of warring members.Rock band R.E.M., pioneering rappers Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, punk poet Patti Smith and 1960s dreamgirls The Ronettes also made the cut.All will be honoured March 12 at a black-tie ceremony in New York, the main fundraiser for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland. Rock acts become eligible for the hall 25 years after their first recording. They often perform at the ceremony, although last year Deborah Harry refused to share the stage with some of her former colleagues in Blondie, and none of the Sex Pistols bothered to show up.
