LOS ANGELES -- Lindsay Lohan's estranged father says she suffers from multiple addictions, including alcohol and the painkiller OxyContin, the Web site E! Online reported Wednesday.

The 20-year-old actress checked into rehab Monday following a weekend that included crashing her Mercedes, being arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and being photographed slumped in the passenger seat of a friend's car. This is her second rehab stint this year.

"I spoke to the people treating Lindsay, because I wanted to make sure she was getting the right care," Michael Lohan told E! Online. "And I'm satisfied they are doing the right thing for her, helping her detox from the painkillers and things. That's a very important step."

Lindsay Lohan The Latest LA DUI Arrest / Now We Can Only Hope Lindsay Lohan Gets Paris Hilton's Judge

I certainly don't have anything against Lindsay Lohan personally. What I do have a problem with is the way all of these young LA party crowd seems to think they can just drink all they want or do all the drugs they can get their hands on and then get behind the wheel.
With Paris Hilton on her way to jail it would seem that the judges might be sending a message that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated anymore but we will see how the Lohan case ends up. I'll be watching close to see what happens... BJC

Lindsay Lohan arrested on drink-drive suspicion


Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she crashed her sports car into a curb.

The accident happened at 05:30 local time (13:30 BST) on Saturday when the 20-year-old actress, under the legal drinking age in the US, and two other passengers in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 hit a curb on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills.

Lohan was then taken in another car to hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. Police in Beverly Hills followed the actress to the hospital and arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Police released Lohan but she is expected to appear before a judge on August 24th and could face criminal charges.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Lindsay Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Saturday after her convertible struck a curb, and investigators found what they believe is cocaine at the scene, police said.

Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said. It appeared Lohan was speeding, Lt. Mitch McCann said at an afternoon news conference.

Officers at the scene found a "usable amount" of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine, McCann said. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Lohan was not carrying it.

Lindsay Lohan's accident probably won't amount to much, a leading defense attorney tells CBS.

Gossips claimed the hard partying screen star could face a prison term after suspected cocaine was found in her car.

The wild-child, was arrested after a crash in her Mercedes SL-65 convertible.
