Britney Spears has temporarily lost custody of sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. In a closed-door hearing today (Oct. 1), a judge ordered her to hand over the children to ex-husband Kevin Federline by Wednesday at noon "until further notice of the court," reports People.

Though the judge didn't elaborate on his sudden decision to overturn the couple's 50/50 custody agreement, Federline's attorney, Mark Kaplan, reportedly requested the last-minute hearing after Spears was photographed driving her two sons around Los Angeles this weekend, even though she doesn't have a license, reports E! News.

Influential celebrity blogger Perez Hilton posted an acerbic response to Judge Scott Gordon’s ruling, chiding Spears for brining the loss of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, upon herself.

Well, We’ve all seen Britney doing some pretty outrageous things in 06 but what’s in the cards for her in 07? Hopefully for her sake and her kids she will get her act together and find some new friends. That would be a good start for the New Year anyways. Paris Hilton seems to go through friends like they are disposable diapers. Perhaps Britney will learn that whoever claims to be your friend one day will turn on you the next and treat you like dirt. I’m not blaming Paris for Britney’s problems because she’s a big girl now and is responsible for her own actions but Paris seems to be at least a bad influence just the same. It’s sad to see these young girls ruining their lives before they have hardly even started…
