Tammy Faye Bakker - Messner Dies Of Cancer At 65 / If Tammy Faye Is Seated At Right Hand Of God It's So He Can Reach Over And Slap Her Greedy Ass !!!

Tammy Faye Messner, who as Tammy Faye Bakker helped her husband, Jim, build a multimillion-dollar evangelism empire and then watched it collapse in disgrace, has died. She was 65.
Messner had battled colon cancer since 1996 that more recently spread to her lungs. She died peacefully Friday at her home near Kansas City, Mo., said Joe Spotts, her manager and booking agent.
She divorced her husband of 30 years, with whom she had two children, in 1992 while he was in prison for defrauding millions from followers of their PTL television ministries. The letters stood for "Praise the Lord" or "People that Love."

On Passing, AP Calls Tammy Faye Bakker-Messner 'Symbol' of 'Greed and Hypocrisy in the 1980's'

The AP says of Bakker-Messner:

For many, the TV image of then-Mrs. Bakker forgiving husband Jim's infidelities, tears streaking her cheeks with mascara, became a symbol for the wages of greed and hypocrisy in 1980s America.

Tammy Faye gets a fair shake in new musical

Aspiring composer J.T. Buck was knocking back a few in a bar one night in 2004 when a friend asked what the subject of his next show would be.

Seeing Tammy Faye Messner (formerly Bakker) being interviewed by Larry King on the bar's TV, Buck blurted her name.

"I was kidding at the time," he admits of the impulse to write a show about the ebullient televangelist best known for her excessive makeup, onscreen crying, the scandals that bankrupted her Praise the Lord Club empire (and sent former husband Jim Bakker to jail) and, in a somber turn of recent years, her battle with cancer.

At the height of his ministry, about 13.5 million people watched him and Tammy Faye on a daily basis. PTL Club -- the South Carolina operation that owned the 2,300-acre Heritage USA Christian retreat and gospel theme park grossed $129 million. The Bakkers also had a 10,226-square-foot "parsonage" (actually a condo in Florida) into which they put $60,000 in gold fixtures, and his-and-hers Rolls Royces (which he later used to brag on the air were proof of God's blessing on his life.) They also owned several other less expensively decorated properties, and an "air conditioned dog house". Alas, it didn't last...

Jim Bakkers New TV Show website shells out gimmick trinkets and of course "send in those donations people"

Tammy Faye’s pierced-and-tattooed son has moved here to spread the word to Williamsburg. Are PBR drinkers ready for their own PTL?

What was the PTL’s message?

I always remember my parents were groundbreaking and pretty open to people. They were never political. My dad had to raise a lot of money in order to keep his church going, and I think he got a little sidetracked with that, but …
