The War Between The AACS And The Blogging World / Copy Protection Key Posted On Thousands Of Sites Angers AACS

DRM group vows to fight bloggers

A row erupted on the internet after popular website Digg began taking down pages that its members had highlighted were carrying the key.

The website said it was responding to legal "cease and desist" notices from the Advanced Access Content System.

Digg's users responded by posting ever greater numbers of websites with the key, and the site eventually sided with its users.

Blu-ray's secret key: now showing at websites everywhere

What's in a number? Quite a lot, it turns out, if it's a 16-digit hexadecimal (base 16) number that begins '09 F9'. (That's '9' followed by '249' in normal - base 10 - numbering.)
Why the fuss? Well, it appears that the 16-digit number in question is the cryptographic key for unlocking the copy protection on the new generation of DVD discs. It was discovered a while back and posted in obscure parts of the web, where it languished.

News website stand against piracy triggers online revolt

SAN FRANCISCO: Popular news-ranking website Digg has sparked a fierce rebellion in the world of citizen journalism by trying to stop the spread of software code for hacking high-definition movie discs.

An insurrection by Digg users took place last week when website operators removed postings of an HD-DVD encryption code key and closed the accounts of posters to appease the Advanced Access Content System (AACS).

Paris Hilton Gets 45 Days In Jail / This Sure Isn't The Simple Life For Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton breaks down

PARIS Hilton wailed after a judge sentenced her to 45 days in jail for driving with a suspended licence, and claimed it had all been a misunderstanding.

The hotel heiress, 26, was stunned and shaken when Judge Michael Sauer yesterday told her to report to jail by June 5.
"I don't know what happened . . . I did what they said," she said in a quivering voice.

Then The Simple Life star broke down, sobbing loudly as her socialite mum Kathy hugged and comforted her in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Court.

What Paris Hilton can expect behind bars

LOS ANGELES -- Hopefully, Paris Hilton likes chicken.

She was sentenced Friday to 45 days at the Century Regional Detention Center, Los Angeles County's jailhouse for women just south of downtown in Lynwood.

Inmates there get three low-sodium meals a day, with dinner the only hot meal. Beef and pork aren't permitted -- ''it's all poultry-based,'' said Capt. Alice Scott, who oversees the 2,200-inmate facility she describes as ''a very nice place.''

Like other high-profile Los Angeles County inmates -- O.J. Simpson, Robert Blake, Robert Mitchum, Sirhan Sirhan and Charles Manson -- Hilton will be segregated from the general population for her own safety, living in a one- or two-person cell.

Paris to do time behind bars

Celebrity socialite Paris Hilton was given a 45-day prison sentence by a Los Angeles court today after being found guilty of a parole violation.

The 26-year-old heiress to the Hilton hotel empire will begin her sentence on June 5, the court ruled, following a three-hour hearing at the Metropolitan Court House.

Paris Hilton Heading To The Slammer / Poor Paris's Probation Problems

Paris Hilton facing jail time for allegedly violating probation

LOS ANGELES: Hotel heiress Paris Hilton's life in the fast lane could be about to slow down significantly.

Hilton faces a hearing Friday for allegedly violating the terms of her probation for an alcohol-related reckless driving conviction. Prosecutors have asked that she be jailed for 45 days.

Prosecutors also want Hilton to stay away from alcohol for 90 days, wear a monitoring device that will chart whether she complies and they want her driving license suspended for an additional four months.

City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo said Hilton is being treated the same as anyone else.

"Anyone who would have conducted themselves in a way that resulted in this set of facts, we would have made the same recommendation of 45 days in county jail, regardless of whether they were a celebrity or not," he said Thursday

Everyone Wants To Bang Paris Hilton Up

There's a good chance that Paris Hilton hasn't been in this much trouble since she told Rick Salomon "Sure, I'll let you film me wanking you off just this once - but you have to promise that you won't start selling it on the internet, OK?"

Paris Hilton could face jail

Paris Hilton has been warned by US prosecutors that she could face jail ahead of a hearing today for a violation of her probation on a drink driving charge, according to court documents.

Prosecutors have recommended a jail term of 45 days after Hilton was charged with failing to enrol on an alcohol education programme and driving with a suspended licence.

An original sentence was suspended in January when Hilton was put on probation after she was arrested last September on suspicion of driving while under the influence.

She pleaded no contest to the charge and was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and a fine.

Talking Clock

A drunk was proudly showing off his new apartment to a couple of his friends late one night. He led the way to his bedroom where there was a big brass gong and a mallet.

"What's with that big brass gong?" one of the guests asked.

"It's not a gong. It's a talking clock", the drunk replied.

"A talking clock? Seriously?" asked his astonished friend.

"Yup", replied the drunk.

"How's it work?" the friend asked, squinting at it.

"Watch", the drunk replied. He picked up the mallet, gave the gong an ear-shattering pound, and stepped back. The three stood looking at one another for a moment.

Suddenly, someone on the other side of the wall screamed, "You asshole! It's one-fifteen in the morning!"

CBS Radio Told Imus To Be Controversial Then Fired Him When He Was / The Hypocrisy Of CBS Radio

Imus hires attorney, will likely sue CBS

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Former radio talk show host Don Imus has hired one of the country's top trial lawyers to sue CBS Radio following his dismissal last month for making racial and sexual on-air comments about members of the Rutgers University women's basketball team.

Attorney Martin Garbus told CNN Wednesday that he has agreed to represent Imus in a wrongful breach of contract suit against his former employer.

Garbus would not disclose when he was retained by Imus but said he plans to file an action against CBS in the near future. Calls made to Imus by CNN were not returned.

A CBS spokesman declined comment.

Imus to sue CBS, plots to get back on air

Don Imus is preparing to sue his former employer — and plotting a possible return to radio.

The radio jock, who was fired by CBS for ripping the Rutgers women's basketball team with a racist, sexist insult, has hired Martin Garbus, a top First Amendment lawyer, to help him recoup the $40 million left on his contract.

Imus also has told friends that he's hoping to be back on the radio within months.
